Job summary

Ross Stores is seeking a Loss Prevention Agent to support store safety and loss prevention programs by monitoring stores for theft and fraud and following policies to deter or apprehend individuals after validating dishonest acts have occurred. The Agent works with LP Field Leaders, corporate investigators, and external partners to document findings and resolve incidents.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent required; AA degree preferred.
• Minimum 1–2 years experience in loss prevention, retail, or security.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners including law enforcement.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain working relationships with associates at all levels.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems with urgency.

Responsibilities

• Monitor store entrances, exits, sales floor, and checkout areas to identify theft or fraudulent behavior.
• Observe and engage individuals exhibiting dishonest actions to prevent loss.
• Utilize CCTV, reporting tools, and investigations resources to detect theft indicators.
• Document incidents, maintain evidence, and provide timely reports to leadership and Investigations teams.
• Partner with leadership and law enforcement to resolve theft cases and support apprehensions.
• Assist with trespass enforcement for repeat offenders per policy.
• Collaborate with internal teams on major theft incidents and investigations follow-up.
• Identify and report safety hazards and operational vulnerabilities to store management.
• Perform additional duties to support loss prevention objectives.
