Job summary

Zions Bancorporation is seeking a Loan Specialist to provide administrative and operational support across loan areas, including processing and servicing. The role involves assisting with closings and disbursements, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with laws and bank policies.

The position requires a high school diploma with 6+ years in banking or loan processing; a college degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or equivalent and 6+ years banking or loan processing, documentation, servicing, or other directly related experience
• College degree preferred
• Expert knowledge of lending processes, principles, documentation, exceptions, collateral review, payments, and loan systems
• Strong working knowledge of general banking process and procedures helpful
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Must have excellent organizational and customer service skills
• Must be accurate, possess numeric and verbal aptitudes.
• Excellent research and audit skills
• Ability to work in a demanding environment, complete processes, and meet deadlines
• Advanced working computer knowledge and various word processing, spreadsheet, or related software.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and/or operational support within the loan areas (processing, servicing, documentation, notes, etc.)
• Assist with closing and disbursements on a limited basis
• Clear identified loan exceptions and maintain files
• Verify completeness of files with all necessary documents and signatures
• Research and resolve lending inquiries and issues
• Work with lenders to resolve discrepancies in documentation
• Ensure all applicable laws and bank policies are followed
• Prepare/track disbursements, loan documents, reports, and obtain credit/financial information
• Review loan and collateral documents for security interest and policy adherence
• Update loan system with collateral info and exceptions
• Perform other duties as needed
