Job summary

Ray Thomas in Austin, TX seeks an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant for a hybrid role (four in-office days and one remote day) supporting a busy regulatory and contested-case practice.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in litigation support, strong calendaring and proofreading skills, and can manage conflicting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Environmental/regulatory exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of litigation legal assistant experience.
• Strong calendaring, time-entry and administrative experience.
• Ability to support a heavy desk in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong proofreading, organizational and communication skills.
• Experience with administrative or contested-case litigation is a plus.
• Experience with PUC, the Railroad Commission, SOAH or TCEQ is a plus but not required.
• iManage experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Maintain attorney calendars and monitor deadlines.
• Prepare, proofread and format pleadings, discovery, exhibits, correspondence and other legal documents.
• Assist with electronic filings and docket monitoring.
• Handle attorney time entry, billing review and prebill processing.
• Open new matters and submit conflict requests.
• Coordinate meetings, travel and expense reimbursements.
• Organize documents, correspondence and electronic files.
• Communicate professionally with attorneys, clients and internal teams
