Job summary

The Utah House of Representatives is seeking a House Majority Legislative Assistant to provide high-quality support to members of the House Majority Caucus. This role helps legislators manage responsibilities during the legislative session and year-round, serving as a conduit between representatives, constituents, and the legislative process.

The position is full-time with a hybrid work model in Salt Lake City, UT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public administration, public policy, communications, political science or related field.
• Strong organizational, writing, communications, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently on multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for assigned legislators and handle questions and concerns.
• Proactively provide weekly updates and offer assistance.
• Mentor legislative interns during sessions.
• Coordinate calendars and schedule meetings with legislators and stakeholders.
• Assist with drafting reports and correspondence.
• Support caucus events and professional development programs.
