Job summary

MFS invites a Juris Doctorate candidate to join our Legal Summer Internship for 10–12 weeks, June 9 to August 13, 2027. You will work full-time, 35-40 hours per week, and be paid hourly while gaining experience researching employment, privacy, governance, and securities matters and drafting documents for review.

This hybrid program combines on-site collaboration with remote work days and offers exposure to regulatory filings, governance matters, and litigation support in a premier asset

Qualifications

• J.D. candidate who has completed at least one year of study in an ABA-accredited law school.
• Course work in business organizations and securities law or equivalent experience preferred.
• Commitment to diversity and inclusion in a legal career.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks timely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Research legal issues under asset management, employment, privacy, cyber-security, governance and tax matters.
• Draft/review governance documents, by-laws, agreements, and resolutions for meetings.
• Draft/review investment-related agreements, custodian and fund accounting agreements, and licenses.
• Assist with regulatory filings, prospectuses and annual reports.
• Support litigation/regulatory investigations including pleadings and motions.
• Prepare meeting materials and coordinate internal committee activities.
