Job summary

Norfolk Iron is seeking an Operations Supervisor on a hybrid schedule (2nd & 3rd shifts, 5p–1:30a) to lead manufacturing teams. This hands-on leader will drive Lean manufacturing, safety, quality, and continuous improvement while building an engaged workforce.

You will coach, evaluate performance, develop training, and implement 5S, standard work, and process improvements across shifts.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent manufacturing leadership experience.
• 3–5 years of manufacturing supervisory experience.
• Proven Lean manufacturing implementation experience.
• Strong continuous improvement skills and problem solving.
• Experience managing employee discipline and relations.
• Excellent communication, coaching, and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work a hybrid schedule for extended 2nd and 3rd shifts.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision for 2nd and 3rd shift staff.
• Ensure production schedules, quality standards, and customer requirements are met.
• Monitor KPIs including safety, quality, productivity, and labor efficiency.
• Coach, mentor, and develop employees; conduct regular performance evaluations.
• Develop training plans and cross-training initiatives.
• Promote accountability, teamwork, and a respectful work environment.
• Lead Lean manufacturing, 5S, and standard work initiatives.
• Lead change and implement equipment/process changes.
