Job summary

Commerce is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable infrastructure across on‑prem data centers and cloud environments (GCP/AWS). You will own automation, IaC, and cloud architecture, and mentor a team to support global operations.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in infrastructure, deep Linux and networking expertise, and experience with Terraform, Ansible, and Puppet. The role blends hands-on work with technical leadership in a hybrid, US-based setting.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in infrastructure or systems engineering with production ownership.
• Experience with remote management of physical hardware infrastructure.
• Solid Linux systems administration (Red Hat/Debian) at scale.
• Experience with core networking (Cisco, DNS, load balancing).
• Experience with enterprise storage and backup systems.
• Proficiency with IaC and automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Terraform).

Responsibilities

• Design and operate multi data center infrastructure across on-prem, GCP and AWS.
• Lead automation of deployment and configuration, migrating to modern IaC.
• Design and maintain traffic management, load balancing, and DNS at scale.
• Build and operate monitoring and observability across on‑prem and cloud.
• Develop tooling for distributed, auditable systems administration.
• Document processes, policies, and procedures for the infrastructure org.
