Job summary

Commerce is seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, automate, and operate infrastructure across on-prem data centers and cloud environments. You will set technical direction, own scalable systems, and mentor engineers to support our global operations.

As part of a hands-on, fast-moving team, you will advance automation, observability, and reliability while collaborating with security, networking, and software teams to deliver robust infrastructure for a growing commerce platform.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in infrastructure or systems engineering with production ownership.
• Experience with remote management of physical hardware in hosting facilities.
• Linux administration at scale (Red Hat, Debian).
• Hands-on networking with Cisco, DNS, and load balancing.
• Experience with enterprise storage and backups.
• Automation with Ansible, Puppet, or similar.
• Python for infrastructure tooling.
• GCP production experience (Compute Engine, networking, storage, IAM).
• Ability to lead infra projects and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design and operate large-scale, multi-data-center infrastructure across on-prem, GCP, and AWS.
• Lead automation of deployment and configuration management with IaC.
• Design and maintain traffic management, load balancing, and DNS at scale.
• Build and operate monitoring and observability across on-prem and cloud.
• Develop tooling for distributed, auditable systems administration.
• Write and maintain infrastructure policy and process documentation.
