Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Electrical Distribution Engineer in Warrenville, IL to lead project teams and guide engineers and designers in distribution design for 4 kV through 34 kV systems. You will review sketches, perform analyses, and coordinate with clients on design decisions.

The role requires a degree from an ABET-accredited program and 5+ years of distribution experience. Travel for design reviews and field verification is expected in a hybrid work setup with 3 days in the office.

Qualifications

• This position requires a degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
• Five or more years of experience with electric utility distribution or relevant experience to review work by others.
• Knowledgeable in physical distribution design methods and their application.
• Familiar with design codes and standards such as NESC, NEC, ANSI, IEEE, GIS/GWD.
• Experience with overhead and underground distribution projects (120/208V through 34kV).

Responsibilities

• Prepare/review construction sketches and details for overhead and underground distribution services (4 kV through 34 kV).
• Work on project teams with engineers designing new upstream and midstream oil and gas facilities.
• Participate in Process Hazard Analysis and Design Reviews.
• Collaborate with client representatives to address distribution design questions.
• Analyze, design or review priority feeds.
• Support maintenance and recapitalization of distribution components.
• PlanModifications to the system and oversee complex tasks.
• Develop work packages and provide construction support.
• Travel to client/vendor offices and plant sites for design reviews and field verification.
