Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an electrical distribution engineer to lead a project team in designing and reviewing distribution systems from 4 kV to 38 kV. You will prepare construction sketches, perform analyses, and coordinate with clients to ensure quality outcomes.

You will work in a hybrid environment with three days in the office and two remote days, and relocation assistance may be available depending on location.

Qualifications

• This position requires a degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
• Two or more years of experience with electric utility distribution or equivalent review experience.
• Knowledgeable in physical distribution design methods and their application.
• Familiar with design codes and standards (NESC, NEC, ANSI, IEEE) and distribution software including AutoCAD, ArcGIS, PoleForeman.
• Experience with overhead and underground distribution projects (120/208V through 38kV).
• Strong communication skills and ability to lead a project team.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineers and designers in preparing/reviewing construction sketches and work packages.
• Coordinate pole loading analyses, voltage drop, flicker calculations, and BOM.
• Support project scoping, field work, and recapitalization of distribution components.
• Oversee complex tasks and provide construction support as needed.
• Interface with clients and coordinate communication when necessary.
