King County's Department of Local Services, Permitting Division, seeks two Engineer III to lead multidisciplinary teams on development projects, from single-family to complex commercial sites. You will oversee reviews, mentor staff, and ensure timely, quality approvals while upholding equity and customer service standards.

These roles require independent work, strong project management, and effective communication with clients, engineers, and the public.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent.
• Professional License in Civil Engineering or Engineer in Training.
• Ability to interpret codes and regulations.
• Experience with King County road standards and surface water design manuals.

Responsabilités

• Lead development applications for compliance with codes and standards.
• Coordinate with divisions and partner agencies to resolve permit issues.
• Review applications for compliance with road and water design manuals.
• Explain technical concepts to the public and engineers.
