Job summary

King County is seeking an Engineer III to lead remedial actions at the Cedar Hills Regional Landfill. You will develop remediation strategies, provide technical direction on projects, and support CIP from design through commissioning.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with capital project managers, and foster teamwork and continuous learning within the Facilities Engineering Services team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physical science, or related field.
• Progressive experience in environmental remediation.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and contractors.
• Experience applying MTCA, CERCLA or similar programs.
• Experience planning environmental field investigations.
• Strong technical writing and regulatory submittals.

Responsibilities

• Lead remediation program development for the landfill site.
• Provide technical oversight and project management from discovery to cleanup.
• Represent the Division with regulatory agencies on spill response.
• Lead consultant RFPs, bids, and contract negotiations.
• Collaborate with Operations, regulatory, and on-site construction teams.
• Support CIP through design to commissioning.
