Job summary

Essentia Health is seeking a Laboratory Manager to oversee operations across multiple locations in the West Market, including Minnesota sites, with at least one onsite visit per month. The role combines leadership, budget oversight, and regulatory compliance in a hybrid/remote setting.

You will lead laboratory teams, ensure QMS effectiveness, and develop patient-focused lab services aligned with Essentia Health’s mission.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in hospital/clinic lab with 2 years in leadership.
• Oversee lab operations across multiple locations.
• Lead continuous quality management and process improvements.
• Interact with patients as needed and develop client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations of clinic and hospital laboratories.
• Hire, onboard, schedule staff; resolve conflicts; evaluate performance; develop employees.
• Manage daily laboratory workflow and ensure operational efficiency.
• Develop, implement, and maintain laboratory policies and procedures.
• Conduct financial review and manage budgets and resources.
• Lead quality management and process improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Serve as CLIA director/technical consultant for designated labs.
• Interact with patients of all ages as needed.
• Develop and maintain client relationships outside Essentia Health.
• Participate in Laboratory Department teams to support organizational strategy.
• Collaborate with other departments to maintain patient care.
