Job summary

Essentia Health is seeking a Laboratory Manager to oversee operations across multiple locations in our West Market, including Minnesota sites. This hybrid/remote role requires at least one onsite visit per month to assigned locations and will serve as CLIA director or technical consultant for designated labs.

The ideal candidate has MLS degree, 5+ years in hospital or clinic labs with 2+ years leadership, and ASCP certification.

Qualifications

• MLS degree or equivalent education as required by MLS leadership roles.
• CLIA guidelines familiarity or compliance for complex testing.
• Minimum 5 years in hospital/clinic labs with 2 years of leadership.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations of clinic and hospital laboratories.
• Manage laboratory employees: hiring, onboarding, scheduling, staffing, conflict resolution, performance evaluations, development.
• Ensure daily workflow efficiency and develop/maintain policies.
• Conduct financial reviews and manage budgets.
• Lead quality management and process improvement initiatives.
• Ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance; serve as CLIA director/technical consultant.
• Interact with patients and develop client relationships outside Essentia Health.
• Collaborate with departments and committees to support strategic objectives.
