Job summary

Bates White Economic Consulting in Washington, DC seeks a detail-oriented accounting professional to support accounts payable and general ledger functions. You will help ensure accurate monthly reporting, reconciliations, and close processes while maintaining asset records.

Ideal candidates have 0–2 years of accounting experience, a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, and strong Excel and ERP system skills. This is a hybrid role with three in-office days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and ERP systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle accounts payable duties (≈60%), including reviewing reimbursements and vendor invoices.
• Assist with monthly payment files and reconciliations for AP and GL.
• Prepare journal entries and conduct monthly close activities.
• Maintain fixed assets records and depreciation schedules.
• Support Form 1099 reconciliation and ad-hoc accounting requests.
