Job summary

Cinespace Studios is seeking a detail-oriented Jr. Staff Accountant to join our finance team in a hybrid capacity in Chicago, IL, with potential locations in Atlanta, GA, or Wilmington, NC.

You will manage core accounting processes across AP, AR, cash, and reconciliations, applying GAAP to support timely month-end close. You will partner with operations, sales, and external vendors, ensuring accurate records, clear communications, and a proactive approach to improving processes and financial

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience.
• 0–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Dynamics 365 Business Central preferred.
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and full accounting cycle.

Responsibilities

• Review vendor invoices against contracts and POs, code to GL and accrue, approve for payment.
• Analyze AR aging, investigate past-due balances, and recommend collection actions or reserves.
• Ensure AP/AR subledgers reconcile to GL and resolve differences.
• Oversee daily cash activity and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare accruals, prepaid and adjusting entries per GAAP and close schedules.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve pricing/PO issues and coordinate with vendors.
