Job summary

Flyover LLC, a growing immersive entertainment company, is seeking a Staff Accountant to support day-to-day AP/AR operations across multiple sites. The role emphasizes accurate invoicing, cash activity, month-end close, and process improvements within a hybrid Chicago, IL setting.

You will partner with the Controller and Finance team, handling vendor records, reconciliations, intercompany activity, and financial reporting while leveraging Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting experience with hands-on Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable responsibilities.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Experience with invoice processing, customer billing, account reconciliations, and month-end close support.
• Experience with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar ERP is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day Accounts Payable activities, including reviewing and coding invoices, routing approvals, entering invoices, and supporting timely payment processing
• Maintain vendor records, respond to vendor inquiries, research discrepancies, and resolve payment issues
• Support Accounts Receivable activities, including customer invoicing, recording payments, monitoring outstanding balances, and following up on past-due accounts
• Reconcile AP and AR subledgers to the general ledger and investigate differences
• Assist with cash and bank activity, including payment application, deposits, and bank reconciliations
• Prepare and post routine journal entries and supporting schedules for month-end close
• Reconcile assigned balance sheet and general ledger accounts and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner
• Assist with intercompany transactions and reconciliations across multiple entities and locations
• Support expense, credit card, and other accounting reconciliations as assigned
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and close activities
• Prepare supporting documentation for internal and external audit requests
• Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation in accordance with company policies and GAAP
• Partner with site leaders and internal departments to resolve invoice, billing, coding, and payment questions
• Support Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central implementation, process documentation, and transition from legacy systems
• Identify opportunities to improve AP, AR, and accounting workflows and strengthen internal controls
• Provide general accounting support and assist with other Finance & Accounting projects as needed
