Qualifications

• BA/BS in relevant field and 4 years of experience or equivalent
• 8+ years ITS engineering experience with planning, design, integration, and implementation of transportation technology systems
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months
• Experience delivering transportation engineering/ITS projects for INDOT or other agencies
• Experience with ITS infrastructure and field technologies like fiber-optic, CCTV, DSS, vehicle detection, and traffic systems
• Familiarity with ITS network architecture, system integration, and field-device coordination
• Systems engineering process experience: operations concepts, requirements, architecture, interfaces, and implementation plans
• Traffic engineering activities such as studies, signal design, safety assessments, and maintenance of traffic

Responsibilities

• Support ITS design and implementation for transportation technology projects
• Develop design plans, specifications, estimates, reports and MEMOs
• Coordinate with cross-disciplinary engineers and clients
• Apply systems engineering to develop concepts of operations and architecture
• Contribute to project management including scope, schedule, and budgets
• Assist with business development and proposal work
• Provide technical guidance to junior staff and review deliverables
