Job summary

AECOM is seeking a well-qualified Traffic or ITS Engineer to support a hybrid work model across multiple offices in the Greater Midwest and Southwest. The role focuses on traffic analysis, ITS projects, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-profile transportation projects.

The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering background, 4+ years of relevant experience, and strong communication skills. PE eligibility is preferred, and visa sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• BA/BS and 4 years of relevant experience demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• PE license preferred or ability to obtain license within 6 months.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work in a team and across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Analyze traffic, forecast trends, conduct safety studies, run traffic simulations and plan/design concepts.
• Prepare plans, specifications, estimates, technical memos, reports and presentations.
• Support ITS or emerging technology projects following the systems engineering process.
• Lead or support traffic/ITS project tasks and deliverables.
• Review technical work and project documentation; ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and external clients/sub-consultants.
