Job summary

The State of Alaska is seeking an IT System Administrator 2 in Juneau to serve as a systems architect for UI Benefits and UI Tax programs. You will analyze, configure, modify, and maintain enterprise systems, primarily with mainframe tools such as COBOL, CICS, and DB2.

The role requires proficiency across mainframe environments and strong requirements analysis, with potential hybrid telework after probation, subject to approval by the Division Director.

Qualifications

• Hardware knowledge of computer equipment and interfaces.
• Infrastructure design for LAN/WAN and related protocols.
• Experience with mainframe operating systems and system integration.

Responsibilities

• Act as a systems architect for UI Benefits and UI Tax programs.
• Analyze, configure, modify, and maintain multiple systems across the DOL Enterprise.
• Code fixes and enhancements using COBOL, CICS, DB2 and related tools.
