Job summary

Accounting Search is seeking an Associate Attorney for its Trademark, Copyright & Media Practice Group in California. The role focuses on counseling and litigating trademark and copyright matters for high-profile clients, with substantial client contact and a collaborative team environment in a hybrid setting.

The candidate should have a JD from a top-tier law school, CA bar admission, and 2+ years of experience in IP litigation and counseling, with strong writing and trial skills.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in California, in good standing.
• 2+ years of substantive experience in trademark & copyright litigation and counseling.
• Strong trial experience and comfort with fast-paced, high-volume practices.
• Experience with: Trademark clearance and prosecution strategy; Trademark portfolio management; Trademark and copyright ownership matters; Licensing and fair use issues; Protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights; IP provisions in commercial and corporate transactions.
• AmLaw Experience: Relevant experience at an AmLaw 100 firm is strongly preferred.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional writing, analytical, and strategic thinking abilities; client-first mindset; excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to work collaboratively and independently.

Responsibilities

• Counsel clients on the development, protection, commercialization, licensing, and enforcement of trademark and copyright assets.
• Advise clients regarding trademark clearance, prosecution strategies, and portfolio management.
• Handle trademark and copyright disputes and litigation matters as needed.
• Provide guidance on trademark and copyright ownership, licensing, and fair use issues.
• Draft and negotiate intellectual property provisions in commercial and corporate transactions.
• Conduct legal research and prepare motions, briefs, memoranda, agreements, and client communications.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships while delivering strategic, business-focused legal counsel.
• Collaborate with attorneys and business professionals across multiple practice groups to develop innovative solutions for clients.
• Remain current on developments in trademark, copyright, media, and intellectual property law.
