Job summary

DLA Piper’s Trademark, Copyright & Media Group seeks a junior associate or non-partnership track attorney to join our California offices. Candidates should have at least two years of law firm experience in trademark and copyright counseling and litigation.

The ideal candidate will counsel clients on development, protection, commercialization, and enforcement of intellectual property rights, thriving in a fast-paced, high-volume practice with strong writing, client focus, and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Two years of trademark and copyright counseling and litigation experience.
• Trademark clearance, prosecution strategy, and portfolio management.
• Trademark and copyright ownership, licensing, and fair use issues.
• Intellectual property provisions in transactions.
• Experience at AmLaw 100 firm preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform legal research and analysis to support case strategy.
• Draft briefs, motions, contracts, and correspondence.
• Assist with complex cases and transactions from inception to resolution.
• Maintain strong client relationships with timely updates and advice.
• Collaborate with lawyers to develop innovative strategies.
• Attend hearings, depositions, and negotiations as needed.
• Ensure compliance with legal standards and firm policies.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and leadership skills.
• Participate in firm citizenship and pro bono initiatives.
