Our client, a prominent international AmLaw 50 law firm, seeks a Patent Agent to join its Intellectual Property - Patents Practice. The role is hybrid and involves collaborating with inventors and attorneys to draft and prosecute patent applications in fast-evolving tech areas.

The ideal candidate has a technical degree and 2+ years of patent experience, with strong analytical and writing skills, and proficiency in MS Office. Opportunities for career growth and mentoring are emphasized.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Physics with excellent academic record
• 2+ years of substantive experience in patent preparation and prosecution
• Experience in data science, machine learning, AI, wireless communications, sensors, semiconductors, Internet of Things or optics is highly advantageous
• Working proficiency in Microsoft Office software; strong analytical, writing and communication skills

Responsabilidades

• Work with inventors and attorneys to prepare and prosecute patent applications in emerging technology areas
• Identify inventions through technical discussions with inventors
• Perform novelty and clearance searches to delineate inventions from existing technologies
• Draft comprehensive patent applications and negotiate the scope of patent rights with the USPTO
• Prepare reports and support documentation for patent portfolio management
