Job summary

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family, is seeking an Insurance Follow-Up Representative in the Houston area. You will manage physician billing and pursue third-party receivables using EHR systems and payor portals, researching accounts, refiling or appealing claims, and tracking status across a $1M+ inventory.

The role blends on-site and remote work for local candidates. You will interact with patients and providers, ensure timely payments, explain benefits, and maintain compliance

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED from an accredited program.
• 3+ years of current experience in a health care billing and collection environment or 2+ years with preferred education.
• Basic PC and Internet literacy.
• Medical Terminology, CPT & ICD coding experience.
• Working knowledge of major third-party payers and their websites.
• Interpreting EOBs and physician billing statements.
• Strong analytical and mathematical ability.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage physician billing and collecting third-party receivables.
• Research accounts, refile or appeal claims, and track status in payor portals.
• Communicate with third parties and patients to resolve inquiries.
• Ensure compliance with billing guidelines and department procedures.
