Job summary

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family, seeks an experienced medical coder to ensure accurate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding for third-party payors across multiple departments in the Houston area. The role requires CPC/CCS-P/CCA credentials and 3+ years of coding/billing experience.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Business Administration or related field (may substitute for 2 years of experience).
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or CCS-P/CCA certifications are required.
• 3+ years ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding/abstracting and healthcare billing experience.
• Strong knowledge of commercial payor policies and CMS guidelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Code review and abstraction for CPT/ICD-10/HCPCS across multiple departments.
• Analyze denials and assist with appeals to support reimbursement.
• Maintain coding accuracy and stay updated on CPT/ICD guidelines.
• Communicate with physicians and staff; participate in seminars and certifications.
