Job summary

Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) seeks a Term Limited Temporary Instructional Designer to design and develop innovative eLearning for supervisor, leadership, and onboarding programs. You will create engaging learning experiences using online authoring tools and collaborate with SMEs to align content with business goals.

Three years' experience in full e-learning development, a Bachelor's in Education or related field, and proficiency with Articulate Storyline are required.

Qualifications

• Three years of full development cycle of e-learning projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field; alternative is 2 extra years of qualifying experience.
• Experience with AGILE methodologies and instructional design best practices.

Responsibilities

• Design educational content aligning learning objectives with business goals.
• Partner with SMEs to co-create curricula for live classrooms and e-learning.
• Develop interactive online learning experiences using advanced authoring tools.
• Ensure content structure, clarity, and writing quality with eLearning developers.
• Assess training solutions for quality, impact, and scalability; iterate improvements.
• Adhere to brand guidelines and style guides across content.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align training with priorities.
• Facilitate planning sessions and translate input into actionable instructional strategies.
