Job summary

Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) is seeking a Term Limited Temporary Instructional Designer to design and develop innovative eLearning solutions for supervisor, leadership, performance management, and onboarding programs.

The role requires 3 years of full development cycle experience in e-learning, a Bachelor’s in Education (or equivalent), and proficiency with Articulate Storyline, Illustrator, and Cornerstone LMS. The position offers a hybrid work schedule with up to 35 months duration.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years' experience delivering full development cycle of e-learning projects from analysis to implementation.
• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (or equivalently 2 extra years of qualifying experience)
• Combinations of appropriate education, training, certification, and experience will be evaluated for comparability.

Responsibilities

• Design instructional content adhering to instructional design principles and align learning objectives with business goals.
• Collaborate with SMEs and cross-functional teams to create curricula for live classrooms, workshops, and e-learning using AGILE methodologies.
• Develop interactive online learning experiences with advanced eLearning authoring tools.
• Write clear, structured content and coordinate with eLearning developers.
• Assess training effectiveness and iterate to improve learner outcomes.
• Ensure content adheres to brand guidelines and style guides.
• Streamline eLearning production and shorten development times while maintaining quality.
• Coordinate with technical stakeholders to align content with priorities and plan sessions.
• Synthesize leadership input into actionable instructional strategies.
