Job summary

American Water seeks a Principal, Human Resources Business Partner to align business and HR strategies for a defined unit. You will partner with leaders to drive talent, performance, and organizational design, while coaching managers on HR matters and implementing standardized processes.

You will collaborate with Centers of Expertise on development, compensation, recruitment, and labor relations initiatives to support business growth and change management. Hybrid schedule with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years applicable experience, including leading a department or large team.
• Experience in recruitment of senior talent and compensation cycles.
• Experience with mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the HR partner to align business and HR strategies for a defined business group.
• Lead talent, performance management, and HR programs across centers of expertise.
• Coach leaders and drive organizational design and change initiatives.
• Oversee recruitment processes and employee relations strategies.
• Collaborate with COEs to implement development, rewards, and LR resolution.
