Job summary

Connecticut Conference of Municipalities (CCM) is seeking an HR & Payroll Associate to support payroll processing, benefits administration, onboarding/offboarding, and HR data management. The role emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, and strong customer service in a collaborative environment.

The position is hybrid and reports to CCM's HR function. You will help ensure compliance with payroll/tax regulations while enabling smooth day-to-day operations for CCM and its staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field.
• Previous HR and/or payroll experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and confidentiality.
• Knowledge of MS Office and HRIS/payroll software (Paylocity HRIS a plus).
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly employee payroll accurately and on time.
• Maintain payroll records, HR systems and databases.
• Assist with onboarding and offboarding employees.
• Handle employee attendance, leave, and benefits administration.
• Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.
• Respond to employee payroll and HR inquiries.
• Support recruitment and other HR administrative tasks.
