Job summary

Harbor Health Services, a mission-driven health provider serving Boston and surrounding areas, seeks an experienced Human Resources Generalist. The role supports designated locations, delivering onboarding, employee relations, and compliance with MA employment law.

This hybrid position requires strong communication, organization, and adaptability to meet business needs. The successful candidate will work closely with the HR Manager, handle salary placement, investigations, and policy

Qualifications

• BA or BS in Human Resources, Business, or a related field with 2–4 years of HR experience
• Or Master’s degree in Business or Human Resources with 2 years of HR experience
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws
• Ability to influence, negotiate and partner with all levels of management
• HRIS/ATS experience preferred
• Bi-lingual is a plus
• Travel to Harbor Health sites as needed

Responsibilities

• Oversee onboarding for managers and new hires, including salary placement and offer letters
• Foster positive employee relations and conduct investigations with proper documentation
• Manage accommodations through interactive process and advise managers on performance issues
• Process HR transactions (promotions, reclassifications) and maintain personnel files
• Prepare salary evaluations and support monthly orientation sessions
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and company policies
• Interact with employees and managers to ensure consistent policy interpretation
• Assist in policy development and audits as needed
