State of Connecticut – Department of Administrative Services (DAS) invites applications for a Human Resources Generalist 2 in the Recruitment Services Unit within the Department of Children and Families (DCF). The role is hybrid, based in Hartford, CT, requiring 40 hours per week with a first shift schedule (8:00 AM–4:30 PM).

Qualifications

• Seven years of professional HR management experience.
• One year at junior level in HR or equal employment opportunity/affirmative action or labor relations management.
• Bachelor's degree; substitutions may apply per CT rules (hours or degrees).

Responsibilities

• Advises agency staff on HR policies and procedures and proper classifications.
• Partners with DAS service delivery teams to deliver HR solutions.
• Communicates with managers and stakeholders to ensure cooperative relationships.
• Approves classification and position management transactions and ensures proper structure.
• Ensures compliance with state/federal laws, regulations, and policies.
• Advises employees on employment, career development, transfers, and compensation matters.
• Performs job audits and classification studies; facilitates HR transactions like promotions and transfers.
• Maintains HR information systems and supports recruitment and onboarding.
