Job summary

United Way Forsyth County is seeking a Housing Services Program Coordinator to oversee Rapid Re-Housing and SSVF programs, manage TFA funds, and supervise case managers across UWFC staff and partners. This role collaborates with Compliance, Data HMIS, and program leadership to align day-to-day work with guidelines.

The coordinator will cultivate landlord relationships, identify affordable housing, review leases, and coordinate inspections while ensuring timely execution and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of experience in housing services, homelessness response, property management, or related human services field.
• Ability to travel throughout the service area with reliable transportation.
• HUD HQS certification preferred; if not already certified, prepare to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Experience reviewing, negotiating, or preparing real estate or lease contracts.
• Experience managing program funds and reconciling grant spending.
• Proven supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Working knowledge of HUD Rapid Re-Housing and VA SSVF program guidelines.
• Proficiency with HMIS or comparable case management data systems.
• Strong negotiation, organizational, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage Rapid Re-Housing and SSVF Temporary Financial Assistance (TFA) funds and track spending against budget.
• Provide leadership, support and problem-solving to case managers and partner staff.
• Advise on HUD-RRH and VA-SSVF guidelines and coordinate case conferencing.
• Train new case managers and staff on day-to-day operations.
• Foster relationships with property managers and advocate for participant placement.
• Locate affordable housing units and provide leads to case managers.
• Review lease agreements to flag problematic terms and reduce delays or risk.
• Coordinate with landlords, case managers, inspectors to complete lease processes on time.
• Conduct market analyses to support rent reasonableness and Fair Market Rent determinations.
• Serve as backup inspector for HQS/NSPIRE and Lead-Based Paint inspections and ensure standards are met.
