Job summary

IMS is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable & Collections Specialist to handle insurance and patient AR, ensuring timely reimbursement. The role includes claim follow-up, denial resolution, and patient communications in a hybrid work setting with on-site days at the Corporate Business Office.

Responsibilities include reviewing unpaid/denied claims, coordinating with payers, and maintaining accurate activity in the practice management system while upholding HIPAA and excellent customer

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of healthcare accounts receivable, collections, medical billing, or revenue cycle experience.
• Experience with insurance claim follow-up and patient collections required.
• Experience with physician practice billing or Athena One preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage insurance and patient accounts receivable to ensure timely reimbursement.
• Perform claim follow-up, denial resolution, and patient collections.
• Research claim status and account issues; document activity in PM system.
• Coordinate with coding, front office, and billing staff to resolve errors.
• Assist with account audits and special projects as assigned.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards; escalate complex payer issues as needed.
