Job summary

Physicians Management Solutions is seeking a skilled Medical Collector responsible for pursuing outstanding claims and patient balances. You will work with major insurers, review EOBs, and resolve denials to improve the accounts receivable health of our multi-specialty medical billing team.

The role requires at least 3 years in medical collections, proficiency with EPIC, eClinical Works, Athena Health, and Tebra, and strong communication skills to interact with insurance companies and patients

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of medical collection experience.
• Experience with Medicare, Illinois Medicaid, and commercial insurances.
• Knowledge of insurance claims, EOBs, denials, and payment processes.
• HIPAA compliance and professional communication with patients and insurers.
• Proficiency with practice management and EHR billing software.

Responsibilities

• Follow up on outstanding medical claims and accounts receivable.
• Contact insurance companies regarding unpaid, denied, or underpaid claims.
• Review EOBs and payment information to identify discrepancies and determine follow-up.
• Research and resolve claim denials, billing issues, and payment delays.
• Contact patients regarding outstanding balances when necessary.
• Verify insurance information and identify responsible payers.
• Maintain accurate and timely notes on all collection activities.
• Monitor aging reports and prioritize accounts based on balance and age.
• Communicate with insurance companies, patients, clients, and internal billing staff to resolve account issues.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
