Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience navigating payer sites for appeals/reconsiderations, benefits verification and online claims follow up.
• Experience with accounts receivable software and documentation in medical billing.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient eligibility and/or authorization for services by payer or client systems.
• Update patient demographics and insurance information in appropriate systems.
• Research and status unpaid or denied claims; monitor for missing info and ICN/DCN details.
• Contact payers by phone or written correspondence to secure payment of claims; document outcomes.
• Review EOBs/UB-04 forms; prepare corrections and resubmit as needed.
• Ensure HIPAA, FDCPA, FCRA compliance and proper handling of patient information.
