Purple, a digitally-native mattress and comfort solutions company, is seeking a General Ledger/Inventory Accountant for its McDonough, GA facility. This hybrid role supports inventory and fixed asset records, reconciliation, depreciation, and cost management within a collaborative accounting team.

You will work with warehouse, production, and engineering teams, perform month-end close tasks, ensure SOX compliance, and identify process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience as Inventory or G/L Accountant or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles, accrual accounting, ownership transfer, and cutoff.
• Knowledge of standard costing, cost accounting concepts, and fixed asset accounting, including depreciation.
• Experience with SOX documentation requirements.
• Experience with ERP and warehouse management systems (WMS), and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, particularly with warehouse and production management teams.

Responsabilités

• Reconcile inventory accounts and resolve discrepancies, including in-transit detail, subsequent receipts for in-transit accruals, and the Deposits – Inventory account to support cash management.
• Analyze inventory transactions and trends, particularly adjustments from physical and cycle counts, and support Warehouse and Inventory Control teams with count processes and accuracy.
• Assist the Inventory Accounting Manager with standard cost setting and evaluation of standard cost variances during the month-end process.
• Prepare month-end journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
• Reconcile fixed asset accounts, including the monthly roll-forward, and run monthly depreciation calculations reconciled to the G/L.
• Review fixed asset transactions and related P&L activity to ensure assets are accurately classified and coded, capitalized when acquired or placed in service, and removed upon disposition.
• Conduct annual fixed asset audits and support internal and external audit requests, ensuring documentation meets Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) standards.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
