Job summary

Nextdoor in San Francisco is seeking a Fullstack Engineer on the Local Conversations team to build high-quality web experiences with React and Python/Django.

You will work across frontend and backend, collaborating with product and design, and participate in on-call ramp-up while embracing AI tools and a culture of ownership and learning. This is a hands-on role with equity and a flexible hybrid workplace.

Qualifications

• Experience building and shipping software in production environments.
• Strong frontend fundamentals with modern JavaScript and React.
• Server-side language experience; Python/Django preferred.
• Familiarity with SQL and full-stack development.
• Ability to break down requirements and deliver maintainable solutions.
• Collaborative and strong written and verbal communication.
• 2+ years of software development with ownership of projects.
• Experience with Storybook is a plus.
• Interest in applying AI tools and emergent technologies.

Responsibilities

• Build high-quality web experiences using React and Python/Django.
• Collaborate with frontend, backend, data science and design teams.
• Contribute to ER modeling, architecture, testing, and iteration.
• Participate in team on-call shadow rotation after onboarding.
