Job summary

Columbia Hospitality, Inc. is seeking a Front Desk Agent / Night Auditor in Palm Springs. This hybrid role combines daytime, evening, and overnight shifts to welcome guests, process check-ins/outs, and oversee nightly financials with accuracy.

You will use property management and POS systems, handle guest inquiries, coordinate with other departments, and ensure security of confidential data while delivering exceptional service in a relaxed, guest-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Previous hospitality, Front Desk, Night Audit, or customer service experience preferred.
• Experience with cash handling and financial reconciliation preferred.
• Familiarity with property management systems or POS systems is a plus.
• Strong guest service, communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Basic computer skills including Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Responsibilities

• Performs both Front Desk Agent and Night Auditor responsibilities during assigned daytime, evening, and overnight shifts.
• Handles guest check-in/check-out, establishes appropriate credit, processes payments, issues room keys, and provides information about services.
• Maintains proficiency with PMS, POS, telephone, radio, and other Front Office equipment.
• Responds to guest questions and special requests with professionalism and timely follow-up.
• Assists guests with restaurant, transportation, activity, and entertainment reservations.
• Coordinates with Housekeeping, Engineering, Security, and other departments to address needs.
• Completes nightly financial reconciliation, balances transactions, and prepares Night Audit reports.
• Maintains confidentiality and security of guest information and financial data.
• Oversees Front Desk operations during overnight shifts and communicates unresolved matters.
• Responds to emergencies and incidents, contacting management or emergency services when needed.
• Documents guest concerns and important shift information.
• Keeps Front Desk, lobby, and work areas clean and stocked.
• Follows Front Office, cash-handling, safety, and security procedures.
• Performs additional Front Office and guest service duties as assigned.
