Job summary

Grant Thornton is seeking a Financial Due Diligence Senior Associate in New York to support middle-market transactions and provide buy-side and sell-side advisory services. You will work with experienced professionals to validate, optimize, and create value across the transaction lifecycle.

You will lead analyses, draft initial reports, and collaborate with partners to deliver Quality of Earnings insights, working within a hybrid model and traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is required, advanced degree preferred.
• 2 to 6 years of related work experience in a similar consulting practice or function serving cross-industry clients at a national level.
• CPA preferred or CPA in process preferred.
• Solid experience in accounting, audit, or transaction advisory services.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, GAAS, SEC Reporting, and M&A/transaction advisory services.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a growing practice.
• Strong leadership, business development, recruiting, training, and mentoring skills.
• Excellent written, presentation, leadership, and interpersonal communications skills.
• Travel up to 25% as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform in buy-side and sell-side transaction advisory engagements, including carve-outs and services to clients, PE investors, and lenders.
• Support mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and related capital market transactions.
• Conduct financial due diligence on income statement and balance sheet areas.
• Formulate questions and propose adjustments based on key risks and drivers.
• Lead analysis of operational data, NWC, debt, and debt-like items.
• Draft reports highlighting financial findings and drivers of profits and cash flows.
• Create tailored transaction advisory reports on earnings normalization, model assumptions, budgeting, indebtedness, and business combinations.
• Collaborate with partners and senior managers on proposals and business development calls.
• Meet or exceed billing hour targets; supervise and mentor associates; assess performance for reviews.
• Handle additional duties as assigned.
