Job summary

The Thrasher Group is seeking a Construction & Materials Testing Specialist in Charleston, WV. This hybrid role blends material testing with construction inspection to ensure quality and compliance across diverse projects.

Ideal candidates will have 3–5 years of relevant experience, testing expertise, and OSHA 10/First Aid/CPR certifications. WVDOH/ACI certifications are highly desirable and travel to project sites may be required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in construction inspection or material testing.
• Testing experience in material testing is highly desirable.
• Safety certifications such as OSHA 10, First Aid and CPR are preferred.
• ACI or WVDOH testing certifications are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform sampling and field testing on construction materials including concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and soil.
• Interpret civil construction plans and specifications.
• Monitor construction progress for adherence to plans and compliance with specifications.
• Maintain detailed records of project quantities, daily reports, and changes.
• Keep accurate redline and as-built drawings to document modifications.
• Communicate findings through written reports and coordinate with project stakeholders.
• Ensure quality standards are met and proactively prevent defects.
• Adapt to varying job site locations and schedules, including night shifts and travel as needed.
