Job summary

Akido is seeking a Housing Navigator to support Community Supports in Kern County. This in-person role partners with members, landlords, and care teams to secure housing placements and sustain tenancy.

You will perform housing assessments, complete plans, and coordinate moves while documenting activities in Akido’s systems. Bilingual Spanish is a strong plus; field + remote work options are available where appropriate.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in housing navigation, case management, social services, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of homelessness services systems and Coordinated Entry.
• Familiar with VI-SPDAT, Housing First, and harm reduction principles.
• CalAIM Community Supports experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct housing assessments to identify needs, barriers, and strengths.
• Complete and maintain Housing Plans per Community Supports requirements.
• Assist with housing searches, applications, and required documents.
• Engage landlords and coordinate move-in logistics for placements.
• Identify and secure housing deposits and related resources.
• Provide tenancy support and coordinate with care managers post move-in.
