Job summary

Education Development Center (EDC) is seeking Data-Collectors (Casual I) to administer tablet-based science assessments in elementary classrooms across multiple study sites. This hybrid role requires in-person data collection and travel to sites in Wisconsin, Oregon, New York, and California, with total hours approx.

100-200 per school year. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, experience with young children, and comfort in school settings.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young children
• Experience teaching within elementary schools
• Experience conducting assessments with young children

Responsibilities

• Participate in study orientation meetings and trainings
• Become a reliable assessment administrator
• Travel locally to study sites and coordinate with school staff
• Conduct assessments with kindergarten and first grade students
• Complete data entry and notes within 24 hours of collection
• Communicate with teachers about visit schedules and logistics
• Maintain and setup tablet technology for assessments
• Possibly observe classrooms for science activities
