Job summary

Education Development Center (EDC) seeks Data-Collector (Casual I) to support a federally funded study in elementary schools. This hybrid, in-person role involves administering tablet-based assessments to kindergartners and first graders, with travel across sites and flexible hours totaling 100–200 per school year over three years.

The starting hourly rate is $33–$35/hour. It is a casual, non-benefits eligible position with potential for additional opportunities based on funding.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, initiative and flexibility in a research team setting.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a study team.
• Experience engaging with elementary students in school settings.

Responsibilities

• Participate in study orientation meetings and data collection trainings.
• Become a reliable assessment administrator.
• Travel locally/regionally to and from elementary schools within data collection sites.
• Conduct assessments with kindergarten and first grade students.
• Complete data entry and follow-up notes within 24 hours of data collection.
• Coordinate with study team leaders and follow data collection protocols.
• Troubleshoot potential technical difficulties during assessment administration.
• Maintain safety and setup of the assessment tablet technology.
