Job summary

The ACLU seeks applicants for the full-time position of Facilities Construction Project Manager in the Business Operations and Support Services department at the National office in Washington, DC. This is a hybrid role with three in-office days per week and a two-year term-limited appointment.

Reporting to the Director of Facilities, the role leads renovation and construction projects, coordinates with architects and vendors, and ensures projects meet budget and schedule.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in design and construction project management.
• Thorough understanding of workplace operations and space design.
• Knowledge of change and project management best practices; ability to communicate with staff at all levels.
• Experience managing construction projects in large or occupied spaces.

Responsibilities

• Manage renovation and construction projects in ACLU National facilities.
• Coordinate with senior staff and architects to determine space usage design.
• Select vendors and evaluate RFPs for consultants, GC, subcontractors.
• Coordinate consultants and CM/contractors to ensure projects are on time and on budget.
• Develop and track project budgets and take action to stay within limits.
• Assist legal in negotiating contracts and terms with vendors.
• Administer contracts, POs, change orders, and payments.
• Develop project status reports for management and finance.
• Act as liaison among staff, leadership, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Develop change management and communication strategies.
