LHH is seeking a Senior External Reporting Accountant for a highly visible corporate accounting role in the Kansas City metro with a hybrid schedule. You will own portions of quarterly and annual external reporting and interact with leadership.

You will prepare financial statements and disclosures, research new accounting guidance, partner with internal teams and external auditors, strengthen controls, and mentor teammates. Strong GAAP knowledge and advanced Excel are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Progressive experience in external reporting or complex corporate environment.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to manage detailed work under firm reporting deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Own assigned portions of quarterly and annual external reporting.
• Prepare and review financial statements, disclosures, and management reporting.
• Research new accounting guidance and assess reporting implications.
• Partner with internal teams and external auditors on technical matters.
• Strengthen controls, documentation, and reporting processes.
• Support cross-training and provide guidance to other team members.
• Balance independent ownership with shared team accountability.
