Job summary

metroConnections, Inc. seeks a Technical Services Specialist for Conferences and Events. This hybrid role combines remote work with occasional Burnsville, MN office time and on-site event assignments across the Twin Cities and beyond.

You will plan technical services during sales, produce 2D drawings, and maintain project files. The position supports design, logistics, and vendor coordination through the lifecycle of programs.

Qualifications

• Experience with live event technical elements (audio, video, lighting, staging, scenic, rigging, power).
• Self-sufficient and able to manage workloads across multiple proposals.
• Proficient with MS Office and Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Familiarity with venue floor plans and rigging plots.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Support VP of Technical Services and Directors during sales process.
• Create 2D drawings (floor plans, room sets, stage plots, rigging/power layouts).
• Prepare venue files and plots for 3D rendering when applicable.
• Research venue specs, AV exclusives, rigging points, and power availability.
• Maintain version control and hand off complete program files to production.
