Job summary

Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT) in Illinois is seeking a Director of Enterprise Architecture to lead enterprise-wide IT governance and architecture strategy. The role directs governance, standards adoption, and performance improvements for state IT services in a hybrid in-office arrangement.

The incumbent will supervise the IT Architecture team, collaborate with senior leadership, and ensure alignment with state objectives while pursuing professional development and state-wide IT

Qualifications

• Requires four years of college in MIS, data processing, telecommunications or related field.
• Requires four years of progressively responsible administrative experience in MIS or related field.
• Requires three years supervising IT professionals in a large, complex public or private IT organization.
• Requires three years as an IT architect or leading an architecture team.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Director of Enterprise Architecture, directing enterprise-wide IT governance and strategies.
• Analyze and adopt new standards; review and approve technologies.
• Develop performance improvement initiatives to enhance DoIT capabilities.
• Act as full-line supervisor and report to DoIT leadership.
• Engage in top-level management meetings to update on programs and governance.
• Stay current on IT developments via training and conferences.
