Job summary

Illinois Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) is seeking a Director of IT Governance to plan, direct, and coordinate enterprise-wide governance for IT initiatives. You will supervise staff, report to senior leadership, and drive adherence to governance standards across state agency projects while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices.

The role emphasizes collaboration with executives, auditors, and cross-agency partners to deliver compliant, high-quality IT services

Qualifications

• Requires four (4) years of college with coursework in Management Information Systems, Data Processing or related field.
• Requires four (4) years of progressively responsible admin experience in MIS or related field in public or business org.
• Requires three (3) years of experience administering or managing enterprise governance platforms or architecture tools (e.g., ServiceNow APM, TRM).

Responsibilities

• Directs IT Governance for DoIT, ensuring adherence to objectives, policies, and processes.
• Directs efforts to ensure compliance with governance standards across agency IT initiatives.
• Identifies and manages performance-improvement initiatives to enhance DoIT’s IT service delivery.
• Serves as a full-line supervisor and participates in top-level management meetings.
• Keeps leadership apprised of progress, problems, and governance-related matters.
• Pursues ongoing education to stay current on products, vendors, techniques and governance procedures.
