Job summary

The Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT) in Illinois seeks a Director of Enterprise Architecture to plan, direct, and coordinate enterprise-wide business and technology alignment, governance, and processes for uniformity and compliance. The role includes managing IT initiatives across agencies and leading a skilled team in a collaborative, hybrid work setting at the DoIT offices in Springfield.

Ideal candidates will have extensive MIS/IT governance experience and strong leadership

Qualifications

• Requires four (4) years of college with course work in Management Information Systems, Data Processing, Telecommunications or related field.
• Requires three (3) years of professional experience supervising a team of Information Technology professionals in a large and highly complex public or private IT organization.
• Requires three (3) years of professional experience serving as an IT Architect for a professional organization or leading an IT team in a capacity that included significant architecture oversight.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate enterprise-wide business and technology alignment, maintenance of governance standards and processes, and enforcing adherence and compliance with governance policies for uniformity and compliance of initiatives subject to governance.
• Identifies, develops, and manages performance to improvement initiatives to enhance the capabilities of DoIT in delivering IT services to State agencies, boards, and commissions.
• Serves as full-line supervisor and participates in top level management meetings.
• Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field by continuing education through online training platforms, meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences.
