Job summary

VoltForce is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team of mechanical, electrical, and software engineers. You will drive projects from concept through production, partner with customers and suppliers, and mentor engineers to achieve high performance.

The role focuses on technical leadership, people management, and continuous improvement, with responsibilities spanning design, manufacturing processes, and product development in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Master's degree preferred.
• 7-10 years of end-to-end electrical engineering design experience in a design and manufacturing environment.
• 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience managing engineering teams across mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines.
• Experience designing, testing, and troubleshooting PCBAs and electromechanical assemblies.
• Experience developing and debugging embedded firmware for analog and digital hardware.
• Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and root cause problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the engineering team, providing leadership, coaching, and mentorship.
• Drive engineering projects from concept through production, keeping milestones, timelines, budgets and business objectives on track.
• Serve as a technical leader on product development, engineering design, manufacturing processes and complex technical challenges.
• Partner with customers and suppliers on technical discussions, product development, audits, and problem-solving.
• Balance workloads and allocate engineering resources to the highest-priority business and customer needs.
• Develop and maintain engineering processes, standards, and documentation, and track KPIs to assess team and project performance.
• Support recruiting, hiring, onboarding, performance management, and succession planning to grow the engineering team.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives that improve quality, efficiency, cost, and operational performance.
